Wind Turbine Project Part 2a- Gearbox, shaft and collar
Part 2 of the gearbox system for a vertical axis wind turbine.
Some viewers mentioned it was hard to see what happened. This video demonstrates a super close up the arbour shaft. The smaller shaft from the food blender had to be modified to work with the 5/16" shaft from the food blender gear box.
I left my angle grinder at home, so I had to create a dimple in the shaft with a drill bit. The threaded screw in the adapter should keep the collar from spinning.
Drilled a 5/16" hole in the end and it slides onto the blender shaft.
I have to admit I'm a little clueless on how to join two shafts of different sizes together. I created a sudo transmission for the two shaft pieces.
